Late last year, Friends of Femili PNG became a proud member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID). Applying for membership involved being assessed against the ACFID Code of Conduct and this process assisted Femili PNG to make sure that our work, activities and governance were all best practice.

We were also thrilled when ACFID approached us to write a blog about our governance and safeguarding. Writing the blog gave us an opportunity to introduce the work of Femili PNG to over a hundred ACFID members. It also allowed us to talk about our experiences, about how having the right governance structure, board and contextually-based decision-making framework is essential to the effectiveness of development interventions and safeguarding.

You can read the full text of our blog here on the ACFID website.
