Femili PNG was recently surprised and delighted to receive a generous donation from David Morrison AO.

As Australian of the Year for 2016, the retired Lieutenant General and former Chief of the Australian Army is a champion of diversity and gender equality, in Australia and abroad.

General Morrison was recently in Papua New Guinea to give the keynote address at Digicel PNG Foundation’s Men of Honour Awards ceremony.

Regarding the donation, General Morrison explained:

Digicel PNG asked me to speak at this wonderful initiative to recognise men who have stood up against violence and I was honoured to take part. I was offered a generous speaker fee which I wanted to donate to the domestic violence sector in PNG.

On Femili PNG, General Morrison said:

I am glad I have found such a terrific recipient in Femili PNG. I am delighted that I have been able to make a contribution to such an important initiative.

Femili PNG is likewise delighted to receive this support from such a prominent Australian.
