WP_20151125_12_23_42_ProOn the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, also known as White Ribbon Day (November 25 2015), staff from Femili PNG, along with partners from the Family Support Centre and Lae Police Family and Sexual Violence Unit, spoke to staff members at Theodist on the issue of family and sexual violence (FSV).

More than 30 staff from Theodist, a stationary and bookselling business in Lae, attended the event. Femili PNG staff spoke about the prevalence of FSV, the issues behind it, the services available and ways to access the services provided by stakeholders. They also performed a skit demonstrating how Femili PNG works in collaboration with other service providers in Lae to provide quality services to clients.

In their feedback, the Theodist staff said that before the event, some of them knew there were FSV services available, but had limited knowledge of the different types of services and how to access them. Some even expressed that they have never heard about the services available until the event, and said that they appreciated having an increased awareness after the presentations by Femili PNG, the Family Support Centre and Lae Police Family and Sexual Violence Unit.
